Hi there! My name's Ahad Rauf.
I'm a Ph.D. Candidate in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University interested in robotics, dynamic systems and controls, design, and monolithic manufacturing. My Ph.D. research is on developing tactile shape displays for high-resolution 2.5D data visualization and haptic surface interaction. Previously, I've had the pleasure of working on robotics and nonlinear control systems across different size scales, from developing an industry testing station for autonomous vehicle LiDAR-on-chips to designing MEMS (micro-electromechanical) control systems for a cigar-sized rocket.
My current research is with Professor Sean Follmer in the SHAPE Lab. I earned my M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford in June 2022, and my B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (minor in Physics) at UC Berkeley in May 2020.
